The growth of cloud connectivity via public internet has shown no sign of abating, driven by continued growth in adoption of SaaS and SD WAN deployment on enterprise networks. Roughly 90% of enterprises are now moving Microsoft applications to the cloud over internet links, but relying on public internet can result in challenges with speed and reliability, negatively impacting operations and business performance.

Enterprises could traditionally choose to connect to the Cloud via public internet or via dedicated layer-2 connectivity provided byMicrosoft’s Azure Express Route. Now, with the launch of Microsoft’s Azure Peering Services as part of118金宝搏 第三种方法。

By taking the Peering approach, enterprises combine the simplicity and flexibility of internet access to the cloud with the quality of experience that usually only dedicated private connections can provide. It addresses many of the typical challenges experienced by connecting over public internet and provides the customers benefits of direct peering with Microsoft to Office 365 and Microsoft Azure. The impact on user experience is evident in highly available and more responsive applications, which translates to enhanced business continuity and increased productivity.

Colt customers can prioritise traffic all the way from the Colt CPE to Microsoft’s data centres. Moreover, traffic routing is optimised by always selecting the shortest network path to Microsoft network edge. This results in low and predictable latency, whilst redundancy offered by multiple direct interconnects, on top of the resiliency of the Colt IQ Network, makes cloud access extremely reliable.

As more businesses move their applications to the cloud, offering a range of different connectivity solutions is key in ensuring each business finds the right fit for them. Take a look at ourpress releaseto find out more about the new Colt and Microsoft Peering Services.
